Rand Paul is preventing the swift implementation of a $40 billion Ukraine aid plan.
The bill has been unanimously adopted by the Commons and has bipartisan support in the Senate.

Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky upset both party officials on Thursday by delaying Senate ratification of an additional $40 billion to help Ukraine and its allies resist Russia's three-month assault within the next week.

Now with Legislature about to hold a referendum on a package of military and economic help, Paul stymied the leaders' ability to move forward. The bipartisan bill, which is sponsored by President Joe Biden, demonstrates the United States' willingness to strengthen its support for Ukraine's outmanned military.
